How to relax go when you don't know how

Sometimes the hardest thing about letting go is that your body and mind have become so used to holding on.

And let's be honest, as a Cancerian- I love to hold on tight!

Holding the pressure, the expectations, the dreams, the worry.

Holding the version of yourself that has to keep managing, coping, anticipating and getting through.

Today I'm sharing an insightful practice that helps you notice the effort involved in that holding, and how to release it.

I've remembered this Practice as I'm currently in Bali with a lot of 'pressure' to relax,

and it's not something a creative, busy-minded ambitious woman naturally does.

Rather than beginning from a neutral place and telling yourself to “just let go,” you’ll first bring awareness to something you’ve been carrying and feel, quite literally, what it is like to hold it.

Then, through the practice, you’ll begin to experience the contrast.

Holding.

Releasing.

Holding.

Releasing.

You may work with stress, pressure, people-pleasing, grief, rumination, high expectations, an old relationship, something someone said, or simply the sense that you’ve been carrying too much for too long.

The practice is simple, but the invitation is powerful: to let your body learn the sensation of release.

I know that can be so unfamiliar, even scary.

So I designed a practice that makes it possible to experience it, rather than intellectualise the concept of it, which you'll probably turn away from.

You're guided to notice that you do not have to carry everything in the same way, all the time.

To create a little more room in your mind, heart and body for what serves you now.

Come back to this practice whenever you notice yourself gripping, bracing, overthinking or trying to hold everything together, and soon enough- you'll learn to do it on your lunch break, in the car-park waiting area, and those moments when 'everything is urgent'.

You do not have to put it all down forever.

Just enough to remember what letting go feels like.

Reflective question from this practice:

What's the cost of holding it all together?

I really want you to enjoy the mastery of holding, healing

and leading your inner World.
