ADHD Counselling in Perth

As we learn more about ADHD, many of our clients are receiving ADHD diagnoses later in life and are seeking to understand themselves better with an experienced ADHD counsellor, which we are pleased to provide at Gabriella de Mori & Co Counselling.

Whether diagnosed in childhood or adulthood, coming to terms with this new identity and beyond can be complex and lonely if you don’t have the right support or people who understand you.

As experienced counsellors, we offer a compassionate approach and space for you to process having ADHD and truly understand the highs and lows and everything in between, while striving to help you find your unique magic and let it shine.

Our counsellors will use evidence-based strategies to understand and manage symptoms that impact you daily, support your relationships and build confidence in your personal and professional life.

The Way We Approach ADHD Together

ADHD counselling involves understanding how ADHD affects an individual’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. A trained therapist helps clients develop practical coping strategies, such as time management techniques, emotional regulation skills, and self-compassion. Sessions may also explore underlying emotional challenges, including anxiety, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. The goal is to create a tailored approach that empowers clients to thrive.

How an ADHD Counselling Session Unfolds

ADHD counselling sessions typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each individual's unique needs. The therapist will work with you to identify specific challenges and introduce practical strategies to improve focus, organisation, and self-awareness. Sessions may include goal-setting, cognitive-behavioural techniques, mindfulness practices, and emotional support. The number of sessions required depends on individual progress and therapeutic goals.

We see your challenges and we’d love to help you.

ADHD shows up differently in women, often more quietly, more inwardly — and that can lead to years of feeling misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or simply exhausted. Counselling can be a turning point.

You’re one of a kind, let’s show the world your magic with counsellors who have ADHD themselves, and thrive.

ADHD Couples and Relationship Counselling

We see both individuals and couples in our practice for ADHD counselling, as a speciality area of our Practice.

If one or both partners in your relationship have ADHD, there will be unique experiences, triggers, patterns and opportunities for growth and understanding from an ADHD-informed perspective.

We believe working with an ADHD-informed therapist is invaluable. Without in-depth knowledge of ADHD and relationships, other couples counsellors may miss your unique dynamics, mislabel or misdiagnose symptoms, patterns or behaviours.

All of our ADHD counsellors are also couples counsellors, bringing a rich and dynamic level of expertise to your sessions.

We help couples with ADHD work through:

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Rejection Sensitivity

  • Conflict patterns

  • Negative Core beliefs or shame

  • Practical habits, routines and daily living.
