My love of writing

Writing just flows through me.

Writing is a soulful and reflective practice for my hat I have learned to rely on to cope, express myself and create something purposeful out of difficult times.

It’s been my anchor, my companion and my saving grace thousand times over, as I have travelled, lived overseas, loved, lost, fallen apart and questioned nearly everything that has come my way.

I have endless journals that I have lugged across this universe, refusing to become a digital journaller. Instead, my journals fill my bookcases with scrawling passages, printed photos and saved moments within.

I suppose it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that I love to write for the pure pleasure of it as I’m a third-generation writer: My grandfather was a prolific Australian war historian, and both my parents were journalists.

My writing is not technical nor shared to impress. Rather, I share my words so that you may feel closer to your own heart.

I'd love to inspire and invite you to cultivate your own writing practice, as I believe we only truly know what we feel and how we think, once we have written.

Kind Words

“Dear one. You have loomed large and special in my life this year. So grateful for your insights and your incredible way of being. I’m inspired and also more acceptive of myself. I thank YOU. You are my version of a happy marriage between Daniella LaPorte, Heidegger and Simone de Beauvoir. I respond so well to your truth-telling, and the smidge of darkness that accompanies all things life, and vice versa. As a Hatha Trained yogi, reconciling the polarities is part of the gig, and we just can’t have one without the other. I really appreciate the leaning into ‘soma’ you bring, trusting the material wisdom of the body, both large and subtle, to determine our emotional comfort. Thank you for a lovely and lively sharing of your intimate insights.  You are a treasure.” ~ Joani, Yoga Teacher

Kind Words

“You are seen and heard! You have important thoughts to share and the powerful voice with which to do so. Your writing is a gift! I look forward to reading so much more of it! It is women like you that make me excited to be raising two young wild children- wild women warriors of the future. Keep writing for us and for them. We need more women to do what you do, to be part of the change. We are taught to stay in our lanes, be quiet, soften our voice, don’t get too excited, tone it done, what will others think etc Forget that, rise up, soar! We need more women to do what you do, to be part of the change! Do it for my sake, for your sake, for my daughter’s sake!
